Brigade Roles

Both clinical and nonclinical participants are welcome to attend a brigade.

Clinical roles:

  • Surgeons (current specialties include: general; orthopedics; gynecology; urology; ear, nose, and throat; and ophthalmology)
  • Nurses (OR Circulators, OR/Scrub Techs, Pre-op, PACU)
  • Anesthesiologists
  • CRNAs
  • Sterile Processors
  • Other Clinical Staff (including Scrub/Surgical Techs, Physician Assistants, Physical Therapists, CNAs, Medical Assistants, X-ray Techs)
  • Non-surgical Physicians (current specialties needed: dermatology, asthma/allergy, pediatrics, family medicine, hematology, optometry)

Nonclinical participants will act as general volunteers and rotate among different surgery center and NPH ranch work station roles throughout the week. Surgery center roles include turnover crew, instrument helpers, nursing helpers, physician helpers, laundry helpers. Ranch workstations include the kitchen, tortilla house, farm, garden, and baby house.

We are always looking for bilingual individuals (English/Spanish) to serve as interpreters in the surgery center.
